Mistfall Hunter Class Tier List: The Best Classes Ranked For Launch Meta (2026)
Bellring Games finally delivered one of the most interesting PvPvE extraction RPGs I’ve played in a long time. Mistfall Hunter doesn’t simply ask you to defeat monsters—it constantly forces you to decide whether another player is worth fighting or if escaping with your loot is the smarter move. Every run feels different, and after dozens of matches, one thing becomes obvious: your class choice changes everything.
I’ve spent plenty of time experimenting with every available class while also watching experienced players, community discussions, and high-level gameplay. The launch balance is surprisingly solid, but not every class performs equally once real players start hunting each other.
This isn’t just a ranking based on damage numbers. I looked at solo survivability, trio synergy, PvE speed, extraction consistency, and PvP pressure to build a list that actually reflects how the game feels right now.
Mistfall Hunter Launch Tier List
| Tier | Class | Overall Rating |
|---|---|---|
| S | Sorcerer | Dominates both PvE and PvP |
| A | Shadowstrix | Incredible solo assassin |
| A | Withered Knight | Excellent frontline bruiser |
| B | Mercenary | Beginner-friendly and dependable |
| B | Blackarrow | Strong but mechanically demanding |
| C | Seer | Amazing support, weak solo option |
While every class is playable, some clearly have an easier time surviving extraction runs than others.
S Tier — Sorcerer
If I had to recommend only one class for players chasing wins during launch week, Sorcerer would be my first choice.
The class has one weakness—low durability—but nearly everything else feels incredible once you learn positioning.
Instead of trading blows face-to-face, the Sorcerer controls the battlefield before opponents even reach melee distance. Powerful elemental abilities erase monster packs in seconds while also forcing enemy teams to rethink every push.
Why Sorcerer feels so strong
- Massive burst damage
- Excellent crowd control
- Safe disengage tools
- Fantastic boss killing speed
- Outstanding choke-point control
One thing I particularly enjoy is how fluid the elemental rotation feels. Alternating between fire and frost isn’t just visually satisfying—it rewards players with noticeably higher damage output.
Blink mobility is another huge advantage. Experienced players can avoid dangerous abilities entirely instead of trying to tank them.
The only real downside is obvious: if someone catches you without cooldowns, mistakes become expensive very quickly.
Still, in skilled hands, Sorcerer currently sits comfortably above the competition.
A Tier — Shadowstrix
Shadowstrix perfectly fits the fantasy of a deadly assassin.
You’re never trying to fight fair.
You’re waiting.
Watching.
Then suddenly someone disappears before they even understand what happened.
That’s exactly why this class has become one of the biggest threats in solo matchmaking.
Strengths
- Incredible mobility
- Fast engagements
- High burst damage
- Excellent escape potential
Unlike heavier melee classes, Shadowstrix chooses when fights begin and when they end.
Recent balance changes reduced some of the more frustrating ranged burst options, but honestly, that barely changed its identity. Skilled players simply adapted.
Good Shadowstrix players rarely stay exposed for more than a few seconds.
They dive in.
Unload damage.
Disappear.
Repeat.
Its skill ceiling is extremely high, which explains why opinions about the class vary so much. Average players think it’s balanced.
Veterans make it look completely broken.
A Tier — Withered Knight
The newest addition to the roster immediately became one of my favorite classes.
Withered Knight doesn’t rush enemies blindly. Instead, it slowly forces opponents into uncomfortable positions before finishing them with devastating melee attacks.
The enormous sword range alone makes many close-range matchups surprisingly easy.
Biggest advantages
- Excellent sustain
- Powerful debuff mechanics
- Reliable crowd control
- Very forgiving survivability
The pull ability deserves special mention.
Few things are more satisfying than dragging an overconfident ranged player into melee distance before unloading a full combo.
Another reason I rank this class so highly is versatility.
Solo?
Great.
Duos?
Excellent.
Trios?
Possibly even stronger.
Few classes transition between different team sizes this smoothly.
B Tier — Mercenary
Every extraction game needs a dependable beginner class.
Mistfall Hunter has the Mercenary.
If you’ve never touched an extraction RPG before, this is easily the safest recommendation.
Combat feels familiar.
Blocking works well.
Mistakes aren’t instantly fatal.
Learning maps becomes much less frustrating.
Pros
- High durability
- Reliable defense
- Easy mechanics
- Strong PvE farming
- Flexible weapon options
Shield builds are incredibly forgiving.
Meanwhile, hammer-focused builds offer satisfying heavy attacks capable of deleting weaker enemies with ease.
Unfortunately, mobility keeps the Mercenary from climbing higher.
Against experienced Sorcerers or Shadowstrix players, closing the distance becomes a serious challenge.
You can absolutely win.
You’ll simply have to work harder than they do.
B Tier — Blackarrow
Blackarrow might actually be the hardest class to rank.
In the right hands?
It feels terrifying.
In average hands?
It can struggle more than almost any other class.
The difference comes down almost entirely to mechanical skill.
Landing every shot completely changes fights.
Missing two or three arrows usually changes them for the worse.
What makes Blackarrow dangerous
- Consistent ranged pressure
- Excellent slowing effects
- Strong trap utility
- Great objective control
The freezing abilities create fantastic opportunities for teammates.
Meanwhile, long-range pressure constantly forces melee players into awkward approaches.
Spacing matters more here than with any other class.
One positioning mistake often means instant punishment.
That’s why I can’t comfortably place Blackarrow above B Tier despite its enormous potential.
C Tier — Seer
Ranking Seer last might seem harsh, but context matters.
This isn’t a weak class.
It’s simply a class designed around teamwork.
If your group communicates well, Seer becomes incredibly valuable.
If you’re entering solo extraction matches?
The experience changes dramatically.
Best qualities
- Excellent healing
- Powerful protective abilities
- Great defensive utility
- Strong trio support
Developers clearly pushed Seer further into the support role before launch.
Casting feels smoother.
Healing is stronger.
Support tools are easier to use.
Unfortunately, personal damage never reached the same level.
Winning solo fights often depends on your opponent making mistakes rather than your own offensive pressure.
Because of that, Seer currently lands at the bottom of solo-focused rankings.

Which Class Should You Play?
The answer depends more on personality than statistics.
- Mercenary is the best starting point if you’re completely new to extraction games thanks to its forgiving mechanics and excellent survivability.
- Shadowstrix is perfect for players who enjoy high mobility, flanking enemies, and deciding exactly when engagements begin.
- Sorcerer rewards players who like massive spell damage, battlefield control, and deleting enemies before they can even reach melee range.
- Seer shines inside organized teams where healing and protection can completely change the outcome of difficult encounters.
- Withered Knight offers an ideal balance between survivability and offensive pressure for players who enjoy methodical melee combat.
- Blackarrow rewards precision, patience, and excellent positioning, making it a satisfying pick for experienced ranged players.
Final Thoughts
One thing I genuinely appreciate about Mistfall Hunter is that there aren’t any completely useless classes.
Even the lowest-ranked pick has situations where it shines.
That said, launch balance clearly favors mobility, burst damage, and strong disengage tools. Those qualities naturally push Sorcerer, Shadowstrix, and Withered Knight toward the top of the current meta.
Of course, extraction games rarely stay the same for long. A single balance update can completely reshape the rankings, especially once players discover stronger builds and hidden interactions that haven’t become mainstream yet.
For now, though, if your goal is winning more fights, extracting with better loot, and climbing the early meta, these rankings have matched my own experience surprisingly well. Whether you prefer casting devastating elemental spells, silently hunting players from the shadows, or crushing enemies with a colossal blade, Mistfall Hunter already offers enough variety that every playstyle can find a class worth mastering.
