A Sandworm doesn’t care how valuable your cargo is.

Don’t wait around hoping the Sandworm decides to ignore you.

1. Exit the Spice Crawler immediately.
2. Signal or allow the Carryall pilot to move into position.

4. Lift the machinery away from the sand.
5. Wait for the Sandworm threat to disappear before continuing.

The biggest mistake here is treating the crawler like it’s more important than your survival.

The crawler can be recovered. Your entire haul might not be.

Surviving Deep Desert PvP While Carrying Spice

This is where spice farming stops being a simple gathering activity and becomes logistics.

The most valuable spice fields are also some of the most dangerous places to operate. You aren’t only worried about Sandworms. Other players know exactly why you’re there.

A fully loaded harvester is basically an invitation.

For Deep Desert runs, I would prioritize mobility over maximum theoretical cargo capacity when configuring your aircraft. MK6 wings and efficient engines can help you maintain a strong travel profile.

A commonly targeted cruising speed is around 182 km/h, which can make long-distance travel and boundary crossings more manageable.

The goal isn’t to win every fight.

The goal is to avoid having a fight at all.

If you can identify an enemy group early enough and change your route, you’ve already won the important part of the encounter.

Refine Spice Closer to the Action

There’s another strategy that I think more players should consider: localized refining.

Instead of transporting enormous amounts of raw Spice Sand all the way back to your primary base, establish a compact refining operation closer to the harvesting area when the location allows it.

Medium or Large Spice Refineries positioned in suitable Deep Desert safe pockets can reduce the amount of raw material you need to transport over dangerous distances.

First, you spend less time flying with a heavy cargo load.

Second, you’re reducing the amount of valuable unprocessed material that can potentially be lost during a PvP encounter.

The ideal setup is essentially a small industrial chain:

Personally, I like having multiple warning systems active. The more information you have before a worm actually breaches, the more time you have to react.
